This election is dedicated to the members of the United States armed forces for their sacrifice and service in order for us to be free. These men and women have shown us the true definition of public service, which is the willingness and ability to carry out responsibilities for the benefit of others even if it means at the discomfort or to the detriment of the provider. A true public servant is propelled by impact and the joy of service transcends the remuneration that go with the task. But today, some politicians have redefined public service and self-aggrandizement has become the prime motivation of service. When elected to the Austin city council, the type of public service as exemplified by the United States armed forces will be my code of conduct. We should seize this opportunity to enhance the functionality of public service once again by electing Sam Osemene to the Austin City Council place 4.
